Clinical Responsibility and Oversight
The safe supply of medicines through our online pharmacy is overseen by a New Zealand registered pharmacist who is responsible for clinical governance, prescription assessment, and dispensing quality assurance.
This role includes making independent professional decisions about whether a medicine is appropriate to supply and ensuring that all dispensing activities meet legal and patient safety requirements.
Pharmacy services are provided as part of Healthpoint Limited (Company No. 1474728), a New Zealand registered pharmacy operator.

Qualifications and Ongoing Competence
Christopher Mark James holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from the University of Otago, New Zealand (1996).
As a registered pharmacist, he is required to maintain ongoing professional development and meet competency standards set by the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.
Scope of Practice and Experience
As a practising pharmacist, Christopher Mark James is authorised to assess prescriptions, dispense medicines, provide patient counselling, and support medicine safety monitoring.
His professional experience includes more than 25 years in pharmacy practice, with a focus on prescription review, patient communication, and safe supply of higher-risk medicines.

Role in Online Pharmacy Services
Within our online pharmacy, the supervising pharmacist is responsible for:
- Assessing prescription validity and clinical suitability
- Overseeing supply of pharmacist-only medicines
- Ensuring accurate dispensing and checking procedures
- Identifying risks such as interactions or inappropriate use
- Ensuring compliance with New Zealand medicines legislation
Where safety concerns arise, supply may be delayed, limited, or declined. Patients may also be referred to a prescriber for further assessment.

The supervising pharmacist may contact a patient’s doctor or authorised prescriber where clarification of prescription details or treatment intent is required.
